An eye within the eyes of heaven,
What have you seen so sacred,
That you must be thrown down so angrily?
That clouds despise you so?
Rejected and alone,
though a thousand may fall,
You are caught in gravities grip,
as cold whispers to cold,
But you will fall and join a rush,
Will you lose yourself, caught in a flow?
Remember the beauty from which you fell,
as you crawl your way through blackened mud,
"What a past I had, to see the world,
With eyes of one who could only smile,
But know I know a bitter pain,
and why fight like an ignorant child,
They could not bear to be unloved,
as I, the scoffer of men now am."
Onward, a prisoner to the river,
One in a thousand of heavens tears,
Sorrowful sight to see them wandering
To know they once saw beauty here.

To know they once saw beauty here...
Such marvelous lines. Very well done.
